— Tom Verbruggen, Founder

SQAIR Aviation Projects was founded by Capt. Tom Verbruggen, a highly experienced aviation professional with a strong academic and practical background, who started his aviation career in 1997.

Tom holds a Master of Science degree in Aviation Engineering and an ATPL(A). His flying experience spans a range of aircraft, including the Falcon 900LX, Falcon 50EX, Learjet 45XR, Learjet 60, and Learjet 35. He has operated in diverse environments, from VIP operations to critical air ambulance services.

Tom’s career began as a Maintenance Manager for Sabena, Belgium’s national airline, where he was responsible for managing the Part 145 line and light maintenance for the B737 and A320 fleets. This role laid the foundation for his deep understanding of aviation safety and operational standards.

In 2015, he founded Aviatize, an IT company specializing in SaaS platforms for the aviation industry. Aviatize.com serves professional flight schools, while IDRONECT.com provides a management system for unmanned aircraft operators and regulatory authorities. Aviatize’s clients include well-known organizations such as Transport Malta Civil Aviation Directorate, LOT Polish Airlines, and Diamond Aircraft.

Capt. Verbruggen has held several key nominated postholder positions, including Safety and Quality Manager, Nominated Person Ground Operations, and CAMO Manager for both fixed-wing and rotor-wing operations. He also has extensive knowledge of MD900, EC135, and Robinson R44 helicopters.

In the field of aviation auditing, Tom is an experienced Lead Auditor for ISO-9001, IS-BAO, and EASA Part OPS, as well as ORA and CAMO regulations.

He is deeply passionate about optimizing processes within aviation organizations, driving efficiency and innovation to help them succeed and thrive.

He’s always excited to talk about new projects and innovative ideas. If you have a vision you’d like to explore or a challenge to tackle, don’t hesitate to reach out – he’s eager to connect and help bring your ideas to life!
